Macintosh Software Search: Try our fast new search technology

DESCRIPTION
VisualHub bridges the gap between numerous complicated video formatting standards, and people that just want to get the job done - just what you would expect from the Mac.

If you're looking for something a little more flexible, VisualHub's up for that challenge too. An extensive Advanced panel lets you change all pre-set aspects of encoding...and then some.

Based on the popular, award-winning "iSquint" conversion software for iPods. If you've used iSquint, you already know how to use VisualHub. If you've never used iSquint, you won't have a lot of catching up to do anyway.

Features:

  • Fast conversion from nearly every video format to iPod, PSP, TiVo, DV, DVD, AVI, MP4, WMV, MPEG and Flash.
  • Convert any file in three steps. Click, drag, click.
  • Fit up to 18 hours of video on one DVD. Play it in any standalone DVD player.
  • Xgrid support. Use the power of every Mac on your network for batch encoding.
  • QuickTime Pro or special plugins not required.
  • DivX/XviD AVIs, all forms of MPEG video, and many other formats QuickTime struggles with are supported.
  • Batch Processing of multiple files. Save in-place, or to a different folder.
  • Very comprehensive Advanced panel to modify every aspect of encoding.
  • Dynamic Preview - See results before beginning a long encode.
  • Stitch multiple files together to combine videos.
  • Highly detailed, informative Users Guide.
  • Universal Binary for PowerPC and Intel Macs.

REEL_MAC  Just Incredible!

I've been a Final Cut Pro user since v.1 (many years ago) and I've never ever come across such a useful, must-have Video app.

I got the bundle with AudialHub and I still can't believe the amazing price.

I've used VH almost everyday since I bought it. Forget Cinematize!

I'm currently using Leopard 10.5.2 and have not had a single stability issue. I've converted DVD's, QuickTime movies, even some VOB someone from Europe stuck on a DVD. VH was the only thing that could deal with it and it converted it from PAL without a hitch.

I wish all software was this awesome.  (Version 1.33a)

HARTWELLJ  Awesome program! You won't find another program that will convert to FLV for that price. It's actually built upon the FFMPEGX platform but way bettter. No need to use a ripping software either. Just found out you can drag and drop the DVD into the program and convert it. Handbrake took forever to convert and this thing converts faster than handbrake and even converts faster than QuickTime Pro...Yep it does!

Also, it does batch conversion which is awesome. Converts virtually any video file.

Quality is rediculous...that is good ;). And yes, I can attest to what most users are saying...You can actually have better quality from your original footage. I guess in the smoothing algorithm it actually makes the video better.

The only problem I have with this program is when you use the 2-pass function. It hangs forever and never finishes. Need to get that fixed. Just choose the highest quality and you won't see that much of a difference. I would like for it to work though, so I can have piece of mind that I have the highest quality!!

Love the program!  (Version 1.33a)

TOBI 102  Thank you for telling me about your feelings, macevangelist, you are the good german, I'm proud of you.

And now, what about the german translation of visualhub?

I'm absolutely sure your excellent english can help to translate visualhub into a better german.  (Version 1.33a)

TOBI 101  > I won't buy it since the german translation...

>>Rather offer help NOT just "because...." and sit on your but(t)!...

>> As for the dumkopf whining about the german translation...

Don't missunderstand me, it's a nice app (...app..., - well, in fact it is a applescript/ib thing on top of the free opensourced ffmepg), all I wanted was to point the developer to the fact that his app is bad translated in the german version.

He makes some fine (and somtimes self-ironic jokes) in his apps that often made me laugh (just look at the help menue in isquint - btw.: his freeware isquint is translated much better than the payware visualhub) but all of that is lost in that stupid (and there is the right place to call someone 'dummkopf', Mr. 'ShotgunWeddings') german translation. the developer can't recognize that if he dosn't have knowledge of the german language, so I told him (...in to harsh words).

As for comments like "make it better or shut up" or "just don't buy it" often used as a reaction on critic here on this software review page:

If you are sitting in a pizza hut or thelike, and the pizza is for some reasons not so good, do you think it would be a normal reaction if the Pizza chief would invite you to "go in the kitchen and make your own pizza" or "otherwise shut up"?

And for the comment "offer your help": I did that many times over the years, I've made many software-translations, localized many apps in the Mac OS 6-9 days, some for big companies like macromedia, etc..

Today that's not my business anymore, but if I offer some help these days than mostly to open source projects (not for money, of course).

And I will never work for the software developers of today that offer you a free license (worth 10 to 60 dollars) for 2-7 days of work.

You know, with a good translation they target a market of 150 mio or more german speaking people in germany, swizzerland, and so on, so they can generate a good extra-income with that, even within the little marketshare the Mac has, but who will work a week for the eqivalent of 20 dollars?

My english is not the best, I can understand nearly everything, but can't write it very well, (my german of course is excellent) but i hope you can understand what I wanted to say here.

As for the audio options: for example mp3 128 cbr would be usefull if you have to target to old plattforms as well, eg. Mac OS 9 (QT-Player 6 can play mp3 cbr divx very well, but with vbr you get quirks and stutters.).  (Version 1.33a)
